And then I did some buffing with the machine that @darrenking made.

@russ Thanks, I hope so. I’ll box it up soon and get it on a plane back to Utah, USA. I’ll get my mate to take some pictures of when he has built it all up and when he hands it over to her. It’s a pleasure to bring some light into this cruel world.

Beautiful (of course) work @Boo.
Customer is always right - but I quite liked the black scratchplate on it for the contrast. The pink/white combination is definitely more girly though.
(I know, I know, I know, that's an incorrect thing to say).

@tv101 Thanks TV, good to hear from you and I hope you and your’s are doing good. Yeah, I like the black plate and hardware as well but she is an 11 year old girl, so it’s highly likely that she has been brought up to accept that pink is a girly colour and the white and chrome on this occasion will complement and reflect that sentiment.
Yeah there is a very dated stereotype that girls must like pink and even though a lot of girls do, a lot don’t (my wife being one of them). The whole girly, weak and feeble female nonsense stems from the eternally stupid male macho horse shit that we all endure in a patriarchal society. I sometimes think that the whole girly pink concept comes from nurture, not nature. There are so many things in our western societies that have become conventional, based around the male ego. Smash the system. 😁
Pink is a marvellous colour and should be embraced by all, make it your own. Go with what you like, not what society asks.
I was influenced by nature this spring when the apple blossom opened, then the azalea and rhododendron.
All of my buddleias are out now, showing of a lot of purple shades, from light to very dark, whites and blues. Guess what colours I’ll be using on my next guitar builds. 😁 I’m looking forward to autumn (fall), such a colourful season.
Everyone should make a pink guitar! 🎸💖

it is for a little girl after all.
@boo, it may be for a little girl, but It's not twee, it's just a touch glam! I could play that at my regular Rock Jam (well I could if it was left handed) and I'd probably get a couple of good natured digs about the colour and the sparkles, but I think they'd actually like it.

@jonhodgson Thanks Jon, I think you are right, you would get a few digs from people but it really is a nice guitar (or it will be when it’s built up properly).

I'm not falling for that one again @Boo.
Last time I looked at one of your "age restricted" videos, well .....
@tv101 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 It’s just an Aerosmith song, called Pink, and I’m not sure exactly why it has an age restriction on it to be honest.

After this pink sparkle guitar landed in America, my friend made a neck for it and installed the custom pickups into a nice white scratch plate. This is a collaboration with three guitar builders, myself, my Scottish friend and our American doctor friend.
It’s nearly ready to hand over to the new owners, the 11 year old cancer patient and her father who will play songs on it for her, whilst she looks at her favourite colour, PINK!
We are getting excited about them receiving it and enjoying as much time together, singing songs.
Nothing lasts forever, nobody lives forever but if we can enjoy what time we have whilst we are here, it will be a good life lived, even if it’s short.
I’ll post more pictures as and when I get them. Until then, here is what it looks like.
