Isnt Ash quite heavy?

Got this piece 2inch thick and it weighs a ton. 
Hell of a neck dive to use as a neck.

Tenor Ukelele 17inch scale lenght. Steel strings used no truss rod.
 

Bass Ukulele 20 inch scale lenght. Kamoa uke bass steel wound strings. Carbon fiber rod installed.
