Today I was able to sand back and get a look at how things were going, so far pretty good. Had to add a tiny bit more resin in a couple of spots but it’s getting there.

Ok I’m at a bit at a standstill while this stuff cures. Fret markers are the aluminium tubing again but filled with the epoxy, can’t wait til it’s cure and I can sand everything flush.

@tv101 no, I’ve hit a long boring process where you have to wait and wait and wait lol. I forgot it wasn’t sealed on the back to, made a right mess on my table, thank god for actetone 🤣 
 

@rathius seen a jackson guitars reel on insta earlier, they use a wire hook through a tuner hole and hang the neck through up.   When I did mine I stuck a cup hook in the rear strap button hole…   Read more»

Not done much today but got the headstock sorted and the locking nut fitted.
 

Neck is now roughed out and done an initial radius of the fretboard, added a plate to the headstaock too, hopefully get that all shaped and to thickness in the next day or so.
 

Right, sorted the space for the spoke wheel and routed the end of the fretboard to to accomadate.

@jamesbisset He said on the live he did on carving the neck. Initial facets are about a 3rd in at the heel then run the line down the neck with your finger aginst the side. Then about the fretboard thickness…   Read more»

@jamesbisset That initial carve, instead of a 1/3 in on both sides, go in a 1/4 on one side and a 1/3 on the other. Or do a 1/3 in on each side at the nut then alter it further…   Read more»

Got a couple of bits done today, body sort of shaped, fretboard slotted, neck blank sorted and trussrod fitted. It’s a spoke wheel trussrod though so I need to sort out the heel end for access.
 

Anyway, today I stopped by a friends joinery shop, he handed me some yew wood which looked interesting
