@tej I don’t use superglue for inlays or anything else if I can avoid it. Always stick my fingers together and there are so many different varieties, so if your not in a hurry use ordinary white glue it gives… Read more»

You could still rescue your pliers if you have a good blow lamp by using the above process. Good practice. Watch Mark’s video. -

@tej sounds to me like you let the metal get too hot.Unless you’re grinding HSS tools you need to make sure things don’t get hot, if it changes colour then you’ve compromised the hardening.

@tej I use ordinary end cut pliers from the local diy shop with the end filed or ground to make a flat. They work fine and cost £2. When I go back to work later I will take a photo…. Read more»
