I’m toying with the idea of painting the pickup covers white pearl to match the racing stripes.
@boo I think that could work. Black pickups might not give enough contrast ( perhaps depending on the bridge color? )
So why not make it more stealthy instead? I like the idea

@koendb I think I’ll just put the original chrome bridge back on and paint the pickup covers white pearl then. Thanks for the input. 👍

I forgot to say that I did look for a pot in my spores box but don’t have one sorry
I've got some used B500k pots that I got as a job lot, I'll send you one of these, or a pair of A&B, or any combination of the two, if its of any use to you.

Wow thanks @robin that would be great, thanks very much. Just a B500k I think. I was up in Lochgilphead a couple of weeks back, all around that region, I love it. 🏴

I'll put that in the post on Monday. I was probably there at Castle Sween when you were in the Lochgilphead area, we've been travelling back and forth quite a lot lately, but at home now for a few weeks.
What size nozzle do you have on your spray gun for clear lacquer?
@darrenking Hi Darren, I use a 1.3mm tip with matching needle and air cap. 1.2mm and 1.4mm are acceptable too but make sure you have the right air cap and needle. 👍

I'm glad it got to you. I've got no idea where I plucked the wrong address from. I wonder who's address that is then.
@robin It was actually quite similar and one that people have said before. It happens a lot actually and we don’t know why. Not to worry, it got here. Cheers. 👍

Options please, if you would be so kind. Be honest.
I've painted some pickup covers for this jazz bass and as one of the flip colours is purple, I wanted to try out some purple flake. When the first lot was applied, I offered them up to the guitar to see what they looked like, this is what they looked like initially. I hadn’t clear coated them at this stage so they didn’t look that good and I wasn’t sure the colour was right for what I wanted. I improved them, more pics to come.

I wanted the colour to be richer and deeper so I applied a single coat of black candy to darken it and then a few coats of……. Yep PINK candy! 💖 The pink candy really added a lot of rich depth to the existing purple. Candy paints have many different uses and work so well together, not just on their own. I then gave everything a few coats of clear. I’ll offer them up to the guitar tomorrow when they are dry.

they don't look right in the first picture but on the angled picture they do look as if it works.
@russ Yeah that what I thought. They have had the colour enhancement since then so I’ll see how that changes things when I put them in the guitar tomorrow. They look a lot darker now and shiny so I’ll see. With the the bridge and the strings on too, it might look ok. If it still doesn’t work, I’ll just paint the other ones white pearl and see how that looks. 👍
Thanks for your thoughts and opinion. It’s fun experimenting.
