@rocknroller912 With active pickups I meant the system described by @koendb and @mattbeels : pickups that use a 9V battery. EMG pickups for an example, they have their own circuit. I don’t know their performance, never listened. I think I… Read more»

Thanks I’ve got experience of building simple active amplifier circuits but I didn’t know much about active pick ups and how they are constructed. Less coils must mean a lower impedance. -

@koendb – sorry missed that – with my Firebird wings were cut on bandsaw and routed to shape but the cutoffs were still close enough to clamp – guitar looking very good!

I like the stripe design all though the middle. Think I will try that one day. I get your point about the string break angle on an electric bridge also. -

True but it is a potent string break point. I think some of the old 50s and 60s designs have a lot of room for improvement -
