take no notice of @Boo, it doesn’t have to be a solid finish in pink flake, other colours are available

That finish reminds me of the artist’s technique where they lay down some colour on the paper, then paint over with black, and then scratch out the image revealing the colours beneath -

@boo yeah that might help, don’t have any the right size but can turn some the right size. Other thoughts were sacrificing the end where it’s clamped, using oil for cutting or getting thicker walled tubing.
