@liebe Thanks Dan, the London Plane came from a company called Timberline shop.exotichardwoods.co.uk they call it Lacewood but proper lacewood is totally different. They have it as bookmatched guitar body caps, as used in this build and also as box… Read more»

@liebe friend had really old massive slabs of it, sold me one. Also sawed it up for me with his massive machinery so I could get the maximum use.

Hi Dan,
I would think that with the glued on neck you’ve got a bit more strength but looking at that picture of the bolt on I’d say that was on the limit if not a wee bit past it.

@liebe hey Dan, thanks a lot. I ended up plugging the hole and just going down to one pickup… this was my original plan to begin with so not worrie. I’ll just cover the pickup hole with a pick guard
